Steps to Success
Well I am going to type this without correcting much and not thinking
tooooo much about it either. Feel free to post suggestions on how to become a
successful pirate in the suggestions section.
1. Training is important and even at your lowest
success % train more(about 30success or more) until you can beat about
98% of the pirates of your own level who are active. Don't rush to level up UNLESS you have stocked up
on plenty of snuff to train at a higher level. There are advantages to leveling up as well as disadvantages, so only you can decide which way to go, but in the event we are at war, you will be expected to be able to kill pirates of your level.
2. Get an Merchant Galleon or Caravel, smuggle your ass off and make yourself lots
of cash. With this cash you can buy snuff for training and most important...
get enough $ to get yourself a Pirates Fortified Manor.
The better your hideout, the better your training success will
be. Once you have accomplished this, save up some more for a Barques.
This way you will still have improved smuggling capabilities and a
kick ass ship to attack with. The Barques would be my choice as it is better at sea,
but the Caravel does have more cargo space for smuggling.
Once you are making money, save up for one of the bigger galleons (they aren't too good for smuggling but they kick ass at sea)
3. When you are on the Ocean, exploring or smugglin, make sure you are sailing
under 50% of your ship's HP. You will be invisible to other ships this way.
You can sail with a minimum of 2HP.
To achieve this smash your ship against some
rocks/islands a few times or just sit outside port and within a few seconds, you will be sunk
4. Since we provide you with top of the line equipment this shouldn't be
an issue for you at the beginning until you have enough $ to buy your own and donate back for the new guys who come aboard.(let us know if there might be a special item that
you are looking for)
5. Vote Everyday for points, pillage and buy a map also don't forget to do the temples
6. Rate your brother/sister pirates up or down if that is what they want
7. Take care of your Fleet, yes, please donate to your fleet daily. This
helps all of us for any scenario that comes up or for contests or
treats for everyone.
8. Always log off in Home Port (San Juan is our home port) unless your in Tortuga, then stay there.
This is for safety issues if there is a war or just for your own protection.
9. When you attack, attack pirates from other fleets. It will not only
give you Experience but most important it will give us FLEET EXP ...
and this is how we climb up the fleet rankings =)
10. Don't leave items or points on the market if you are not an RP and need to log off on land, go to sea so you don't get made into a cash cow, you will be mugged. Always secure your money and items
Follow the rules and you leaders advise. Don't be afraid to ask questions as no question is stupid. Enjoy and have fun.
